The Stephanie Experiment

Hey guys,
My feedback/rating on iTunes never got posted (I suspect because it was a 3-star rating?), but I shall nevertheless persist in posting here based on this particular episode. Frankly, while I applaud Stephanie for her "courage" (which is the best way the typical snowflake can term such experiences), I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry when listening to the harrowing adventure it must have been to actually have opened one’s mind to opposing points of view. While I do not question the truth of her own experience here, in what was I’m sure a mentally-eroding 2 months as she exposed herself to knuckle-dragging Neanderthals representing those who would eventually elect the president, I would like to set aside my instant skepticism and make the assumption that this was all some ultra-meta hoax perpetrated on the listeners to your podcast. How else could so many syllables be spent and broadcast effort expended in self-parody? For those of us safely outside the pointless immolation and self-hatred of the liberal sphere of influence, it was jaw-dropping that this experiment and the discussion that followed were intended to be a probing instance of investigative journalism not unlike the delving into Al Copone’s vault (youngsters can look up that gem from Geraldo back in the 80s)!

But perhaps the only thing that can be said in response (and this is under the dubious assumption that this experiment and subsequent interview) is this: is it any wonder that conservatives, then, given they have had to live the majority of their lives under the constant barrage of the "safe" aegis of such proud bastions of down-the-line journalists (and I suppose that is to include the vaunted NYT, BBC, MSNBC, and others that have left any sane person sneering at the comedy line "journalistic integrity" for the past 30 years at least), have had to become much more well-grounded in their beliefs so as to gird themselves against the onslaught? It is no wonder that the vast majority of open-minded and intelligent people I’ve ever met are conservative, because they have always required independence of mind and thought, rather than just being comfortable in the bleating pen of sheep ready to be sheared and then slaughtered willingly? It is an interesting political science phenomenon that the proud moniker of "liberal" now applies more aptly to open-minded conservatives rather than the lock-stepped herd-like orthodox and unquestioning "liberals" of today, ready to be spoon-fed at the trough of pap their hypocritical masters serve them.

And, just in case I am taken for a reflexive far-right acolyte, either: I look with contempt upon the spineless establishmentarians present (which is a great adjective for Jell-O as well) at National Review (headed by lead thinker and college professor Chauncy Q. Milquetoast III) as well as the raving moonbats like Alex Jones, who is head-scratchingly bewildering…
